The Flight
Day One:
Flight from Tioman Island Airport (WMBT) to Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Trengganu (WMKN)
Weather : Fair and Clear
Plan Flight Character: VFR and flying low at 3000ft ASL
Here I am on the tarmac with my brand new Pilatus PC-12. I’m very excited to begin my adventure. Hopefully everything goes well as planned. Carrying a lot of stuff on my cargo aircraft.
Checking the aircraft:
Taking a look under the belly, the gears and other moving parts.
After going around with physical check, time to close the doors.
Okay, in the aircraft now. Looking out on the tarmac. Going through Pre-Flight Checklist. Everything is fine. Before starting the engine, making sure the fuel pump LH and RH is turn on and auto. Fuel content are okay. Batteries 1 & 2 are on and working. Swith on the external lights. Landing gears 3 greens.
Okay lets fire this aircraft. Other routine checks for EIS system, fire test, lamp test, propeller area is clear, starter switch push for 2 seconds to check oil pressure rising and Ng stable between 9% and 14%. Condition lever at ground level. Starting sequence completed, so I check the engine instruments. All is fine.
ATC clearance routine.
Before taxing check; Flaps 15, test autopilot button, no red warning on CAWS panel, De-Icing, External lights.
Release parking brakes.
While taxing check the brakes condition and flight instruments response.
On Runway 03, Ready to take off.
Takeoff. Bye-bye Tioman.
Making a hard left turn avoiding the huge mountain.
Looking back, Tioman now has become a commercialize tourist destination. With 5-star hotels, cruise ship boarding etc. I’m climbing to 3000ft ASL. Heading North.
Leaving Tioman
In a distance I see the shoreline of Pahang State. Around there is a Royal town of Pekan situated. The home of Sultan of Pahang.
12onm to Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Trengganu (WMKN). Going to be smooth flying all the way.
At the border between Pahang and Trengganu state.
Flying over Kerteh Airport. This airport is extensively used by the nation oil industries.
Arriving. Only 18nm from the destination WMKN. Request permission to land was granted at Runway 04.
Airport on visual and got clearance to land. All manual VFR
Landed and on the runway.
Parking at WMKN and time to rest.
Okay I’m in Kuala Trengganu. Let’s just look around a bit and see what Kuala Trengganu has to offer. Day 1 -Kuala Trengganu
